Breaking down the choice Randall Cobb has to make seems to be easy enough. He can either stay at UK One More Year or he can enter the NFL draft where he is thought to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Stay at Kentucky where chances are his stock doesn’t improve, or go to the NFL to make millions of dollars. The choice is simple if you ask me. It’s the same choice that 5 basketball players had to make last year.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Randall Cobb hasn’t made a choice yet and seems to be still considering his options. “A lot of things are affecting that decision,” Cobb said. “That’s why I hide in my room all the time. To keep from being asked that question. It’s really been weighing heavy on my heart lately.”
The decision to go pro is apparently harder than the choice he had to make when picking a college. “It was worse than my recruiting,” he said. “It’s double, triple what I went through in my recruiting. The only thing I can do is pray about it and put all my faith in the man upstairs and let him help me with the decision.”
I’m all for Cobb returning for another year. He’s the most versatile and productive player Kentucky has and is the best chance at Kentucky improving next year. But when it comes to making a living and supporting your family, risking a serious injury in college during a year that you probably wouldn’t improve your stock during is a risk you can’t take.
