I just got back to the house after a wintry drive to get all of my gameday supplies. Wings, chips, and of course my favorite beverages to have a full day of watching the Cats. There are also NFL Wildcard games and several other College Basketball games on the tube today. The bad thing is I am not getting the UK basketball game on Dish Network so I will be on the live chat and feed watching the Cats in their first SEC game of the year.
The Compass Bowl starts soon and I am thinking if the Cats don’t win this game it is a very disappointing season. With all the turmoil Pitt has with their coaching situation you would think the Wildcats and Randall Cobb will take care of business. The Cats are a 3.5 point dog coming into this game, but I actually see us as at least a 6 point favorite. Morgan Newton has been looking strong in practice and has been a great leader according to his teammates. This game rests on his shoulders and his patience in the pocket is a huge key in the outcome. I am also looking forward to what the defense looks like since Rick Minter has taken over the reigns. He is a drill Sergeant type of coach so we will see if the 11 he puts on the field follow orders well.
Right after the Compass Bowl at 4pm the Basketball team will be in Athens playing the Bulldogs. Georgia should be tough in Athens and with the game being sold out since November it will be another tough road environment. I am looking forward to seeing how the freshman handle conference play. There is always a different feel to conference play and the intensity is also higher. Look for another big game from Harrellson and Terrence Jones is destined to have another breakout game. I know what you are thinking, a breakout game? Definitely. Terrence has been struggling the last couple of weeks and this would be a great time for him to get to back to his double double type monster games. 20 and 15 would be what I expect from him every game, and the first conference game would be a great time to start doing it again.

Basketball Kentucky 77 Georgia 69
