Tyrone Pearson (Class of 2012, Seneca HS, Kentucky) is one of the main prospects that has caught the eye of coach Joker Phillips.
And it is obvious that Joker and Co. want the stud defensive tackle.
Luckily enough, the love and relationship is the same for Pearson.
“I am very interested in Kentucky. They would be very high on my list if I had one.”
However, there are other teams that are very interested in the junior.
It has been said that he is also very high on his hometown team, the Louisville Cardinals.
After the Jon Davis signing, it is apparent that Illinois is now giving the Kentucky kids a hard look. Pearson also had some stuff to say about the Fighting Illini.
“Illinois is probably recruiting me the hardest right now.”
He even says Kentucky has a little bit of work to do on his recruitment:
“(Kentucky) is recruiting me pretty hard, but not as hard as some others right now.
Louisville, Alabama, Florida State, and Arkansas join Illinois and Kentucky as the teams Pearson is showing interest in right now.
“I do have a pretty good relationship with the coaches, though,” Pearson explained for reassurance.
It was not the only thing that will make Kentucky fans feel a little better.
With Junior Days quickly approaching, the Class of 2012 players are trying to decide where they want to visit.
Pearson seems to have his visits figured out right now.
“I am planning on going to Kentucky and Illinois right now, and I may try to make it down to Florida State if I can.”
Pearson joins a long list of players that are planning/scheduled to attend Kentucky’s Junior Day later this month.
The ‘Cats will need to make a good impression on this youngster.
He also left me with a good impression on himself when I asked him to explain why a team should want him to play for them.
“I think a school should want me because of the type of player I am and my versatility, along with my hard work. I’m there to work, not goof off and play around. I set an example for my teammates.”
If that continues to carry over to his college days, Kentucky will Pearson’s his demeanor and passion to get better as a team and succeed in the SEC.
