Ronjae Morris is Favoring Two Schools

When you ask Kentucky fans about a rival, the first (and usually only) team to come to mind is Louisville.

However, Tennessee has earned their respective spot for dislike among Big Blue Nation.

Unfortunately for Ronjae Morris, he happens to be right in the middle of things.

Morris, a 5-foot-10 junior running back of Male High School (Louisville) grew up a Tennessee fan.

“To be honest, I have been a Tennessee fan since I was little,” he told me. “I like the way they play, too.”

It must have been a hard time for Morris growing up in Louisville and not being a Cardinal or Wildcat fan.

Nevertheless, he still is expressing interest in Kentucky.

“I really like (Kentucky). There is a great atmosphere in Lexington, and if I stay home, I wouldn’t mind going to Kentucky.”

But it is obvious he loves his childhood favorite. He also adds another to Tennessee at the top.

“I don’t really have a list right now, but Tennessee and UCLA would have to be my top two teams right now.”

Why UCLA?

It sounds a little random, right?

Morris thinks he can play his desired position out West.

“The SEC likes big running backs and I’m not that big. At UCLA I think I could adjust to the different style. They have small backs in formations on the west coast.”

The speed back only has one thing on his agenda to prepare for his senior season and ultimately, college.

“I just have to work on getting bigger. I have no problem with speed or agility, I just have to bust my butt in the weight room.”

With the hard work, he could potentially receive more interest from other teams and have the chance to play running back.

Morris doesn’t let his small size hang over him, though.

He continues to work hard, and he continues to receive interest from schools.

“Tennessee, UCLA, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Kentucky, Indiana, Cincinnati, Penn State, and West Virginia all are looking at me pretty hard right,” he explained.

Unfortunately for Big Blue Nation, Morris characterizes Kentucky’s recruitment as “not as heavy as others.”

“I receive a lot of stuff from them, but they aren’t recruiting me as hard as others right now.”

But things set well with him because Tennessee is really considering him.

“I would have to say Indiana, UCLA, and Tennessee are recruiting me the hardest right now. They keep showing interest in me.”

As his senior season approaches, more and more will express interest in the junior.

His hard work and leadership will be hard to pass up for some teams.
