Kentucky Recruit Takes Top Honors at Alabama Camp

Sunday, some of Alabama’s best high school prospects flocked to Birmingham to participate in the Rivals.com/VTO Sports Elite100 Camp.

Most were rising seniors, and the majority that stood out to scouts and the Rivals.com staff were of the Class of 2012.

However, in the defensive linemen group, a youngster emerged as the most impressive.

Current-sophomore Dee Liner of Muscle Shoals High School was awarded MVP honors for the group, as he “routinely dominated” the opposing offensive linemen standing in his way.

But the most impressive thing about his performance was him compared to the other recruits: Liner was one of the few sophomores in his group.

“There may have been one other sophomore,” he said.

Rivals.com had this to say about his overall day:
Already 6-4, 255, Liner simply had too much speed, too much strength and too many moves for the offensive linemen to handle. More often than not, he left them scratching their heads. Liner’s first step created most of the problems.
Liner currently holds one offer, that being from the Kentucky Wildcats.

He is receiving serious interest from both Auburn and Alabama, though. In fact, Alabama recommended that Liner come visit Thursday and take a look at spring practice.

Of course, the stud-sophomore accepted the invite. He will be on campus Thursday.

Following his visit, he will head to Atlanta for a Nike Combine at the Georgia Dome, hoping to continue his recent success and maybe pick up more offers.

“I want to show out in Atlanta. I need to keep this up,” he said excitedly.

Liner is about to start reeling in some more offers in time, possibly after this upcoming weekend.
