The Eastern Kentucky Drillers, without their starting quarterback Al Holland, escaped late with a 35-22 victory over the Johnstown Generals to clinch a spot in the UIFL Playoffs.
The Drillers defense was the star of the show again as Kentucky alum Ellery Moore led the UIFL’s #1 defense to another impressive showing.

Marcus McClinton had another interception, his 6th in three games, and David Jones had several pass break ups to stymie the Generals’ passing attack.

The Drillers were down 15-6 at halftime, only scoring on this touchdown pass from Daniel Eidson to Justin Lamb.

The Drillers did not lead until a Daniel Eidson touchdown pass to Aric Evans with 46.5 seconds remaining to make the score 26-22.

The Drillers scored 16 points in the final 2 minutes of the game, which included a huge safety by the Drillers’ defense which made the score 28-22.

Jamell Mingo finished up the scoring for the Drillers with a rushing touchdown with 2.8 seconds left.
