Kentucky Football’s Cupcake Schedule could get Them in a Bowl

The Kentucky Football nonconference schedule is as weak as ever this year, and only having to win 6 games to play in a bowl game, Joker’s Cats could sneak into another lower tier bowl again this year.

Kentucky might have some issues trying to get to a bowl this year, but the schedule won’t be one of them. UK is starting the year with three wins against Jacksonville State, Western Kentucky, and Central Michigan. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Louisville are winnable games, and streak aside, so is the Tennessee game. They might even surprise South Carolina again what with the Gamecocks coming off a game against last year’s nemesis Auburn. This is about as attractive as an SEC schedule gets.

Morgan Newton taking over the reigns at quarterback is the least of my concerns as well this upcoming season. Newton at least has game experience and it sounds like his leadership has improved during Spring practice.

I just hope the defense can stop the run and keep teams from controlling the clock and the pace of the football game.

The Cats won’t be able to ourscore any team, they will have to defend to stay in ballgames.

Can that happen? We will find out Sept. 24 when the Gators come to Commonwealth.
