Defensive back Kristoff Ricks was another recruit that represented Stephenson High School’s stellar Georgia team at Sunday’s Skills Camp.
While he hasn’t received the most interest from the ‘Cats, Ricks is optimistic that things will change after his outing on Sunday.
“I think I did pretty good. I worked really hard in the corner back drills, and I also ran a 4.48 40 time, so that’s not bad either,” the 5’10” defensive back explained.
Ricks currently has interest from Ball State, UConn, Arkansas State, Buffalo, and Middle Tennessee State, all who have offered, as well as interest from South Florida, Central Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky.
“I was thankful for Kentucky to invite me to their camp this weekend,” he said thankfully. “I really like Kentucky, but if I had to give my top teams that have offered me, it would be UConn and Arkansas State.”
The rising senior also has a lot of interest placed in Kentucky, and he had a lot of positive things to say about the camp and campus.
“I really like UK a lot,” he began. “It was my first time to be there and it just felt like home.”
“It also made it feel even better to see some of my former teammates there and have my friend DeMarcus Sweat commit, too.”
Ricks was amazed by the modern facilities and the environment that UK presented. In fact, when I asked him how he liked his visit, he corrected me by saying, “I didn’t like it, I loved it.”
“All the facilities were great. The indoor facility really stuck out to me, and the weight room was really nice. But the stadium, it was amazing,” he marveled.
In fact, it seems that Kentucky could be the dream school for Ricks. With his friends leaning towards Kentucky, as well as his overall admiration for the program, he could very well be a Wildcat in the future.
“If I get a Kentucky offer, it will be an automatic commitment,” he stated excitedly. “I like everything about it.”
Ricks would add yet another Stephenson football alum to Kentucky’s gridiron squad.
However, until then, Ricks and his teammates are going to continue to work hard and prove themselves at other camps across the Southeast.
“Right now, I’m planning on going to a Memphis camp soon, and a Southern Miss camp, too. Other than that, I don’t really have anything planned. We will have to see what happens.”
As Kristoff Ricks continues to get better, he hopes to add a Kentucky offer to the rest of his offer thus far.
Ricks considers himself an automatic commitment, and I don’t know about you, but I’d love to add a great guy that is crazy about the Kentucky program and that can play football too.
