Tyrone, Georgia- Sandy Creek High School has been making a lot of noise in recent years. By doing that, the Georgia high school has taken two straight State Championships. While a lot of top targets already make up the team, Offensive Lineman Will Adams (6-5 250) is just another piece to the puzzle.
Even though you don’t expect a offensive lineman to be the main piece, you still have to remember that it always starts up front. Adams gave Sandy Creek’s other big name players, like Mike Hilton, the opportunity to get open and put points on the board. While both players don’t have all of the same offers, they still want to continue being teammates at the next level.
“I’ve blocked for Mike (Hilton) for four years now. We are trying to go to the same school, and I think we will go to the same school of our choice.”
Even though he has accomplished a lot already, he is not satisfied.
“I’m a hard worker. I’ve done all that I can do at the high school level and now I want to do the same thing at the next. I want to win and become a National Champion. If all that works out, I want to be able to win a Super Bowl. I want to become better, stronger, and faster.”
While those goals are heavy, the ‘Cats have a coach that already knows how to reach the top at the collegiate level.
“Coach Tee Martin is trying to push the program to be better than it has been in the past.”
Coach Martin may not be the only thing that Adams likes about the ‘Cats though.
“Kentucky is good school. I still have to get some background on them, but they are near the top of my list. As far as a program, they can turn it around. I know a lot of the guys they are recruiting right now, and if they get them they can possibly go from 6-6 to a SEC Championship.”
Adams also touched on how the ‘Cats are going to be able to accomplish such big things.
“Record doesn’t mean anything. You have to work hard, and if you don’t do that you won’t be able to move towards the right direction.”
For Adams, being from a football family may help in his career as well.
“My brother plays at Georgia Tech and my other one plays at Auburn. Even though I’ve grown up watching UGA and GT, my dad wants me to go where I feel most comfortable, and where I think I will be able to win.”
While winning is a full team effort, Adams wants to continue the team effort and be apart of the ‘family’ of his choice.
“I want to feel like it’s a family between me and the players. I also want that connection with the coaching staff. I want to go to a program where they go hard all the time. You can want to win, but if you’re not working hard, it doesn’t matter.”
Adams continued on by adding,”It’s not what you’ve done in the past, it’s what you are going to do.”
Adams shows a bright future for himself, with a great work ethic and mind, he has the ability to go far in the game of football. While no one in his list of eleven offers stick out to him right now, the ‘Cats could possibly be one of the ones he is keeping a good eye on.
