Each year in early November, four of the nation’s most prestigious programs meet and take turns playing one another each year in the Champions Classic. The renewal that will keep the Kentucky Wildcats in this tournament throughout the 2019 season was announced on Wednesday.
Since the beginning of the Champions Classic in 2011, the four teams that have been and will continue to be featured in the tournament are the Kentucky Wildcats, the Michigan State Spartans, the Duke Blue Devils and the Kansas Jayhawks. Four programs that have a history of being the best.
The Champions Classic will be played in Chicago in 2017, Indianapolis in 2018 and New York in 2019. This year it takes place at Madison Square Garden, in New York City on November 15.
This year, the Wildcats are set to take on the Michigan State Spartans. The last time they saw the Spartans, it ended up in favor of Tom Izzo and Co., so the Wildcats will be looking for a different outcome this season.
