UK Football Creates Controversial National Championship Trophy for New Facility

The University of Kentucky football program recently unveiled a beautiful, new training facility. UK created a bit of controversy, however, by placing a 1950 national championship trophy in the new facility.

The Wildcats are claiming a national championship that season because they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma was still declared “consensus national champions” for the season, despite the loss to Kentucky. Princeton and Tennessee were also voted by some organizations as national champions that season.

Apparently, Kentucky is now staking a claim in the national title:
