Jordan Watson Makes the Call, Wraps Recruitment Up

“I want all Kentucky fans to know I’m excited to be a Wildcat,” Jordan Watson, the latest Kentucky football commitment exclaimed Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman chose Kentucky over USF and Mississippi State, along with a number of other schools.

“My decision really came down to UK and USF. I really liked USF’s coaching staff,” he complimented, “but I thought Kentucky was the best place for me to be.”

Watson, a Fayetteville, Georgia native, also had offers from Wake Forest, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, and Indiana.

But even Watson said those teams don’t matter anymore.

“I’m a Wildcat now. And it feels great. I feel like I made the right decision for my family and I.”

Watson made a trip to Lexington a week-and-a-half ago, and he said “it just felt like home. The coaches are great.”

He is also impressed by Mike Summers’ schemes with the offensive line.

“Coach Summers is a great guy. He has a great, new offensive line plan coming up.”

When asked if he was going to continue to go to camps and visits hosted by other programs, Watson had this to say:

“I’m a Kentucky Wildcat. I’m not going to disrespect the team or the coaching staff by going off to other places. It’s a done deal,” he said with passion. “I will also be at a lot of the home games next season.”

Watson is going to bring a sense of mean, smash-mouth football to the offense line.

“To be honest, I take pride in playing mean and nasty. I love blowing people off the ball and playing hard,” he explained. “I lead by example, not by yelling at teammates or anything like that.”

While he comes from a Georgia family, Watson still believes he made the right decision.

“I have four Georgia graduates in my family, and being from Fayetteville, we’re right in the backyard. But that doesn’t matter. I can’t say how excited I am to be a Kentucky Wildcat!”
