Isaiah Briscoe is receiving positive feedback from pro scouts but still hasn’t made a decision to stay in the NBA Draft.
According to Briscoe’s father, Isaiah is shooting better and has regained his confidence during NBA workouts. His father believes unfair media scrutiny contributed to Briscoe’s poor shooting at Kentucky last season.
Here’s an excerpt of George Briscoe’s comments from the Courier-Journal’s Kyle Tucker:
Briscoe, a 6-foot-3 former McDonald’s All-American, averaged 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 32.2 minutes per game as a freshman last season, starting 33 games for the Wildcats. But his shooting nose-dived to 13.5 percent from the 3-point line and 46 percent from the free-throw line, both dramatic decreases from his high school and AAU numbers.
George Briscoe said his son lost confidence at UK – he believes unfair media scrutiny contributed to that – but has regained his swagger in workouts for NBA teams.’
“I have to figure out why my son is who he is right now in that NBA setting, but at Kentucky he’s not,” the father said. “He’s getting back to being Isaiah now and I’m enjoying it. He goes into some of these workouts with this guy and that guy who are supposed to be first-round picks and does well.”
