Calipari is writing a 3 part series called ‘The Vision of the Program‘. In it he talks a lot about what he wants for the Kentucky Wildcats as a team and as individuals. He talks about recruiting strategy, and life goals. He talks about his responsibility as a coach and how he truly thinks we are going to have an absolute champion team this year. I believe he is right.
“I know how talented this group of players is that we have coming in. I know how fast, how athletic, how smart, how driven and how wired to success they all are. I know how bright they are in the classroom and that they can do things in life other than basketball if they choose to, which we and our university will prepare them for.
As I blend the newcomers in with the returning players, who are equally talented, my job is to challenge them, to make them earn their way, to get them to understand servant leadership and be about each other, and to teach winning attitudes and a winning approach to life, which carries over to the basketball court.”
