[FONT=Tahoma]As the NFL pre-season has officially kicked off, and the football train is going full steam ahead, it is time to pick a team to root for. [/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]I’ve always been a college sports fan all the way, I am from Louisville, the land of line beards and “L-yes” but luckily I was raised right (thanks Mom and Dad!) and grew up rooting for the best team in the state/country, the Kentucky Wildcats. Needless to say I have always rooted for all things blue, no matter the sport. [/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]Since there are no pro sport teams that hail from my great city, you will often find people around these parts pulling for the closest professional team. Many folks in “the ‘ville” are Indianapolis Colts or Cincinnati Bengal’s fans (bless their little hearts). You can also find a smattering of Tennessee Titans folks running around but there is no true allegiance in this city, or the state for that matter, to any professional football team. [/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]Before this year’s NFL draft, I wrote an article about my very first NFL jersey ([URL=”http://courtscourt.wordpress.com/2011/01/14/my-first-nfl-jersey/”]read[/URL]) and how no matter where Randall Cobb was drafted, that would be my new team. How lucky was I that he was drafted to the current Super Bowl Champions? I am the first one to claim that I am a bandwagon NFL fan, but I love watching football in general and even though I’ve never claimed a team for my own, I am always watching on Sundays. [/FONT]
