After having three practices without pads, the Kentucky football team will have its first padded practice of the spring. Excitement always rolls around when you talk about being able to hit someone again for the first time in four months. Maxwell Smith (pictured) seems to be the guy still to beat in the quaterback race, as Bookie Cobbins has moved to receiver and Morgan Newton is still injured.
Sophomore running back Josh Clemens is still recovering from knee surgery, and is limited with Newton. Finding depth, and consistency is one thing the Cats will be doing heading into the fall camp. Signing a talented class is helpful, and seeing where they can fit in will be key this summer. However, for the team right now, creating a successful passing game will help benefit young Maxwell Smith, and create a consistent offense to put pressure against the tough defenses in the SEC.
