Summers Hoping For a Big Summer

After having a lot of success of getting big time commits last season, the summer camps are trying to do the same again this summer starting on Sunday when a lot of high touted prospects come to Lexington. Terrance Summers, a under the radar defensive tackle prospect from Springfield, TN, is just one of the many that will be coming on to campus on Sunday trying to impress the coaches.

Gaining close to half of the 2012 class commits in the summer helped jump start the rest of the recruiting season. Will this summer be the same? The answer to that question may be different, however because of the lack of scholarships that Kentucky have available. Yet, for Summers he believes he “has the ability to take” one of those offers that the Wildcats will most likely hand out this summer.

” I just want it. I have the ability I just have to take it.”

Having a lot of confidence to show his talent to the coaching staff at a high level can be very beneficial in getting what the Tennessee native wants.

“I think I play like Marcell Dareus. I think I have a lot of strength, and the way he moves on field is like me.”

Despite having zero offers at this point Summers is still working hard to try to get his first. Summers has been hitting up the camps over the past couple of months and has a lot of success at many different combines.

Summers has gotten a lot of attention from many other schools besides the Wildcats.

” Mississippi State, Auburn, Cincinnati, Tennessee have been talking to me lately. I also have been getting interest from Tennessee State, Vandy, and UCLA.”

Heading to Lexington will be a nice trip for both parties, Summers believes that the Wildcats staff really want the Tennessee defender.

” I talked to Coach Armstrong the other day, and it seemed like they there was a lot of interest there. They said they were looking forward to having me come up there.”

Sunday will be a crucial start for both Summers and the Wildcats as both are trying to impress and see what options they have. Summers will go to Vanderbilt after this Sunday as well as Tennessee, and many other camps.
