I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the UK football team’s [URL=”http://www.nationofblue.com/nice-kentucky-football-strategy-11516/”]new slogan[/URL], [URL=”http://www.nationofblue.com/weareuk-11520/”]#WeAreUK[/URL]. Aside from giving some lucky fans the opportunity to have their tweets on a billboard, I’m assuming it will be used for the purpose of building unity among the team and fanbase, rather than simply letting the opponent know who they are playing (which may be necessary, given that I don’t see anything about this team that stands out in any way).
What’s that you say? Quit being negative and snarky? The team won the last game it played against a hated rival and deserves a little goodwill going into the season? And we are still months away from the opener at Louisville?
Geez, you talk a lot.
Look, I operate much better in a negative format. And I used up all the sunshine I had in my Little Burlap Sack of Sunshine during the championship basketball season, so I’m fresh out. Be warned that for the next few months, more often than not, this space will contain me griping about the football team, whether unfairly or not (hint: most likely it will be unfairly, because I’m a huge no-talent turd who doesn’t know anything about football and doesn’t support my team; at least, that’s what you will tell me in the comments).
If nothing else, it’s the middle of June and there’s not a heckuva lot going on. So deal with it.
With all this in mind, I spent some time studying on the #WeAreUK slogan, and some potential tweets that will most definitely NOT make any billboards anytime soon, but may be much closer to the truth than the morale-building ones we are sure to see plastered near the roads.
