Deangelo Yancey Makes the Call for Kentucky

Just after adding the first wide receiver commit of the 2013 recruiting class over the weekend, Joker and company have gained a second consecutive receiver commitment.

Atlanta native, Deangelo Yancey has chosen the Wildcats today over such schools as Wake Forest and North Carolina State.

Yancey, a stellar playmaker from the Peach State, was not a surprise pickup for the Wildcats as it had been rumored for a while now.

However, one thing that was never just a rumor was the ability of Yancey himself. It is has become obvious that the Wildcats need playmakers on the outside, which is something Yancey was told he can come in and do.

The three-star receiver told Rivals.com that ” they told me I can come in and be the guy.” This definitely has a chance to be true with the loss of La’Rod King after this season.

The Atlanta native was stellar at many different camps this summer and was said to have a lot of explosion in and out of cuts.

One thing that Yancey can do well is go get the ball. He averaged 20 yards per catch a year ago, as well as hauling in 7 touchdown receptions.

Stay tuned for a complete interview with Yancey later on.
