Over the last ten years, we have routinely been on the losing end of our traditional rivalry games. Those games include North Carolina, Indiana Louisville. We have Carolina down and thanks to “Super Bleadsoe”, Indiana has suffered the same fate!
The entire team today played solid across the board, but Bleadsoe seemed to come up with a number of clutch baskets throughout the game. His three point shooting kept the Cats close through the first half as they fought off Indiana’s own three pointers that seemed unstoppable at times. For a second, I thought Maurice Creek was going to pull a Tayshaun Prince and pull up from half court.
Bleadsoe came into the game averaging less than 9pts a game and ended today with 23, followed by Patterson with 19 and Wall with 11. Even though it seemed like this was Bleadsoe’s game, Patterson was himself as he worked quitely with 11 rebounds and was recognized as the CBS player of the game.
This win made Kentucky 10-0 and has Calipari matching Adolph Rupp for most wins to start a season for a first year Coach.
I really felt like this game was a very solid performance. Indiana came out of the gates and tried to give the Cats a dose of their own medicine. We were able to hold on, crawl our way back into the game, take the lead, then put it out of reach. That’s what good teams (Championship Teams) do. The performance was so good, even Calipari gave them a win taking the Coach Cal record to 5-5!
And for those who are counting, we’re only two wins away from 2,000!!
