Kentucky wears down the dogs for Calipari’s first SEC win 76 – 68. This game was ugly in more ways than one. Turnovers, missed three pointers and a tv picture that has me wishing the SEC network would leave us alone! It was actually making my head hurt trying to watch. The picture was so dark you may have thought they were playing in a cave. It was the first SEC game for the Cats and if you didn’t believe all conference games are trap games, you should after today. It started a little sloppy but after a fast break dunk over Cousins, Georgia was beginning to believe they can win and they almost did.

Today was phase 1 in the DeAndre Liggins coming out party. He entered the game with 13min to go in the first half. He quickly contributed with a steal, taking a charge and hitting a shot late in the first half when Kentucky desperately needed a score. In the second half DeAndre doubled down on a pass into the post and tied up Georgia for a jump ball and a Georgia turnover. After the game Calipari said DeAndre came to play and he was very proud of him and he’s now faced with the question of whether he should become a starter.

Demarcus Cousins continued to show how good he really is. He missed a lot of shots that he usually makes but his passion and will to win out-weighed any Kentucky miss-ques. Overall it was a very impressive performance from Boogie. We’ll update this post with press conference video as soon as it’s available…
