I am going to get straight to the point. Director of SEC officials Gerald Boudreaux is out to get DeMarcus Cousins. Early in the first half vs. LSU there was another “incident” involving Boogie and his ability to find himself in situations where he has to be forceful. Now I am sure that everyone knows about the forearms of the past, with Louisville and Vanderbilt. CBS commentators have went wild at halftime thinking Boogie should be tossed. Each time he has been cleared of any wrong doing. Officially.
Officals don’t do everything officially. They talk. They talk to each other. They have an ex-official as their boss, who I really couldn’t stand when he refereed games for UK. Gerald Boudreaux, in my opinion, has unofficially gotten the word out to all SEC officials that they need to keep an eye on the Kentucky freshman center. If he does anything now or in the future they are going to try their best to make Cousins pay.
A great example was today when 2 LSU defenders were hanging all over DeMarcus and he chinned the basketball and used his elbows to get the Tigers off of him. Boogie was then called for an offensive foul and it was off to the replay to see if he ought to be ejected. I thought that was a little excessive for chinning the ball and playing basketball.
DeMarcus Cousins and Kentucky fans better get used to it because every official is watching him like a hawk. Keep your head big fella, don’t slip up, because 1 little elbow or forearm could mean an ejection.
Gerald Boudreaux talks to his officials and I think DeMarcus Cousins just made the watch list for the zebras in the SEC.
Update: As soon as I posted this I found this video on John Clay’s Sidelines blog. Seems like DeMarcus feels the same way I do!!
