I wonder how far in advanced that ESPN announcers know what games they will be doing? I would say they know at least a couple of months ahead of time, don’t you? Well I think the General knew he wasn’t going to be at Gameday at Rupp. He knew he had games 2 days before and 2 days after the date that ESPN strolled in to Lexington. I think he knew he wouldn’t have to face Cats fans in droves booing him out of the gym.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
If you don’t know the story of Knight saying that Calipari had no integrity and wondered how Kentucky could hire someone that had vacated games in the NCAA tournament, then check out this article.
I always have thought of Knight as a great coach that recruited his type of player for his system, and really perfected the way to play man to man defense. I always thought he was tough as nails and mean to the core. If Bobby decided to say the things he said about Cal knowing he was not going to have any retribution for it from the fans of Kentucky is just weak and in my opinion the reason Knight has retired from coaching. He doesn’t have his edge anymore. It would have took guts to say Cal was a cheater if he knew he was coming to the heart of the BlueGrass, instead of the great boring plains of the Big 10 and Big 12. Oh yeah, I forgot, that is where Bobby Knight coached and got all of his wins. Feel lucky Bob that you are staying where you are. You aren’t welcome here anyway.
