Kentucky has 3 Top Freshman in CBS Sports Ranking

CBS Sports has listed their top 25 freshman in the country and 3 Kentucky Wildcats are on the list.

Take a look at each and their ranking:

2. Jamal Murray, SF, Kentucky

247Sports composite recruiting ranking: No. 10.

The skinny: Murray can play the 1, 2 or 3, and truth is, he might wind up as the best freshman by season’s end. What do I mean by that? In terms of skill, value and production, it’s easy to envision a three-loss Kentucky team earning a No. 1 seed with Murray as the star. Calipari’s team has a lot of star power to go around, but Murray has the fewest flaws of any player on this year’s squad.

3. Skal Labissiere, PF, Kentucky

247Sports composite recruiting ranking: No. 2.

The skinny: Listed as a center by many, Labissiere’s skill set is more suitable to the 4 than the 5. He’s NBA-ready right now. This is what John Calipari does. Brings in the next wave of lottery picks to Kentucky, humbles them, preps them, and just wait until you see all that Labissiere can do. Great handle, good step-back shot, works the post, can rebound, block shots, all of it. Could come close to being as good as Karl-Anthony Towns was last season, and it’s likely his numbers will be better than Towns’

19. Isaiah Briscoe, Kentucky

247Sports composite recruiting ranking: No. 12.

The skinny: Can play the 2, can play the 1, can do a number of things that will make Kentucky’s backcourt the most diverse in the country. Briscoe is one of the strongest guards in this class. He’ll probably be a streaky player, but this is the perfect kind of recruit for Calipari to squeeze all that potential from. If he’s smart, he stays two seasons and tandems with Ulis in 2016 to make for an outstanding 1-2 combo.

If Briscoe’s defense gets to be where Coach Cal wants it to be, my guess is he will be in the top 10 of this list by Christmas.
