The battle that I have been looking forward to all year is scheduled for tomorrow night on ESPN. Kentucky travels to Starkville, Mississippi to play the Bulldogs of Mississippi State. The matchup that will take center stage will be DeMarcus Cousins vs. Jarvis Varnardo. Here is a chart to let you see how each big man’s block numbers match up.
As you can see, Varnardo has 5 blocks a game while DeMarcus is averaging close to 2. It will be hard to get a shot up in the paint as these 2, plus Patrick Patterson will be rejecting everything that comes their way. Guard play will be the key to this game in my opinion. Hitting the perimeter shots will decide the outcome of this game, but it sure will be fun to watch the battle in the paint.
