The 2010 SEC Regular Season Champions, boy doesn’t that sound great. Congratulation to the University of Kentucky Wildcats on winning the regular season title. 44 SEC regular season titles is an amazing number, does this tell us anything about the SEC Tournament this year? Let’s take a quick look to see what we can determine.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] First let’s relive a moment of the 2005-2006 SEC Tournament when Kentucky played LSU in the semifinals and Chuck Hayes came through to pull out the win.

In the 51 years of the SEC Tournament (there were 26 years there was no tournament), Kentucky has won the regular season 28 times and of those years they went on to win the SEC Tournament Championship 19 times. That’s remarkable, nearly 70% of the time the Wildcats win or share the regular season title, they go on to win the SEC Tournament. Not bad odds.
The 2010 SEC Tournament Bracket was recently released and Kentucky will play the winner of the South Carolina vs. Alabama game. Personally, I would like to see them go at South Carolina one more time to make it the best 2 out of 3 for the season. What do you think?
