I’ll be honest and admit that I’ve never been a womens basketball fan. The game has always been fundamentally and competitive, it just always seemed to be missing that “IT” factor to make the game exciting for me. After Sunday night, that’s all changed. Just let me know where to buy my UK HOOPS t-shirt!
After watching this UK HOOPS team for the fifth time this season, I continue to be impressed with how they play the game. It’s everything that you would want in UK Basketball and it’s definitely exciting to watch. Just name an aspect of the game and I’m confident this team will out work their opponent, and have the advantage in the box-score at the end of the game.
Last night they took on the #1 seed Nebraska Corn Huskers. Just by the name you would think that the women corn huskers might be a little much for our CATS, but someone forgot to tell UK HOOPS that. They truly believe they can win and it showed from the opening tip. UK took the lead early and never looked back.
Shooting 50% from three point land, out-rebounding Nebraska 33-20 and 10 steals vs. Nebraska’s 5 are solid indicators that UK just wanted it more!
