It was a fun filled day where I actually got up early for once and actually went to work on time. I was not blogging until 2am this morning and fell asleep still thinking if the Cats really lost. It was a weird feeling when I walked into work and I could feel everyone on pins and needles who walked by me because they knew the Cats lost. I guess they didn’t think I took it very well. They know me pretty well I guess. Lets see what happened today.

[*]John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins were named 1st team AP All Americans making it the first time 2 Cats were on the 1st team. They are also the only 2 freshman to make the team during the same year. Pretty iconic stuff for 2 guys that will only be in Lexington for a short time. I saw a draft projection from Chad Ford of ESPN and Wall is 1st, Cousins is 4th. Have a great time in the league guys, and unless you play for the Lakers, I hope you play well.
[*]Patrick Patterson was named honorable mention All American. Pat has been one of the greatest Cats ever and I look forward to his jersey hanging in Rupp Arena. He is definately an Unforgettable in my book.
[*]I was looking around twitter tonight and saw that Jodie Meeks was in his room watching basketball. In my opinion, if he was still a Cat, he could be watching tape of Duke instead of stuck in a hotel room waiting to go play 2-4 minutes in the NBA. If any of the Cats, and I am thinking of Bledsoe and Orton, need an example of why you should stay in school, it is Jodie Meeks. Man, we needed a shooter, and #23 was the guy.
[*]C.J. Leslie said this evening he thinks all 5 will leave Kentucky this year. Which means John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe, and Daniel Orton are going to make themselves eligible for the draft. I wouldn’t be worried about this but with Wall and Leslie being old teammates it makes me worry. I can understand the 3 going, but not Bledsoe and Orton. One more year guys!!
[*]Oh yeah, Randall Cobb just went to bed. I love twitter.
[*]I also read today,(continuing my crash course in Kentucky football), that Randall Cobb will probably see less time in the Wildcat and play mostly receiver. We will see how long this lasts. The quarterback has to get the ball to him for this to work. Randall Cobb is the best player on the field, and if we don’t get it in his hands by passing it to him, you better find another way to get it to him. It could be a really long year if Randall Cobb doesn’t have the football in his hands alot.
[*]Clay Travis, a Knoxville radio host, posted a poll on his twitter that asked who sportswriters thought is the most lunatic fanbase. Travis had Kentucky basketball as #1. Jeff Goodman said this:Anonymously? It’s not even close. Sportswriters anonymously debate most lunatic fan base: Kentucky.
[*]By the way, here is the website that sports journalist go and anonymously debate about the worst fans.
[*]The McDonald’s All Americans had a dunking contest where Kentucky recruit Josh Selby was the best dunker of the night. He had several awesome dunks and it is hard to believe there are so many awesome point guards in high school right now. It is still a good shot Selby goes to Kansas and Knight goes to Kentucky. Either one looks good after tonight.
[*]I want to end with wishing my deepest sympathies to Fake Billy Clyde for the loss of his Father this evening. I am sure he would appreciate a comment or two. Fake Billy Clyde is just a pen name, but this is a real guy who works extremely hard to get the info out to the Big Blue Nation and loves keeping everyone up to date and entertained! Take care man and we will be waiting on you to get back!!
