View from Section 137: Bedtime Bedlam

It was 8:15pm, and all was quiet as the kids were watching the McDonald’s All American Game with me, and then it happened. Daniel Orton’s Dad had spoken to Jerry Tipton and all hell broke loose. Orton was going to test the waters of the NBA Draft. Now I don’t know if you realize how a 4 year old and a 3 year old get when it is time for bed, but it isn’t pretty. So I am sitting at my laptop, trying to type as fast as I can trying to post the article about Orton skipping town and trying to get pajamas on my two rugrats. Just when I thought I had caught up with everything, Daniel then gives a statement saying he isn’t going anywhere!! So back to the laptop, trying to update, plus trying to brush teeth at the same time!! Well, just when I thought everything subsided, the crazy Darnell Dodson rumor of him leaving too broke. Needless to say it was a crazy evening for me, my children, and the Big Blue Nation. Lets look at the day that was.

[*]I did my second lexycast this morning and I thought it went really well. I guess you will have to take my word for it because the Lexycast widget didn’t work when I posted it. I am just going to skip the one tomorrow until everything gets straightened out. I just can’t win for losing.
[*]Oh yeah, my kids got to bed ok.
[*]Brandon Knight had a horrible McDonald’s All American game tonight. That is until the time to hit the big shot came. Knight hit a deep 3 to propel the West team to a 107-104 victory. Everyone has bad nights shooting, but the way the Cats lost to WVU, it could have destroyed the hopes of the Big Blue Nation getting another guy that can’t hit a shot. Knight is a stud, and I am looking forward to him wearing blue.
[*]DeMarcus Cousins said this evening that Coach Cal told him he expects only 4 players to be left on the roster after the mass exodous. Which means Jon Hood, DeAndre Liggins, Josh Harrelson, and Darius Miller are going to be meeting a whole lot of new teammates come football season.
[*]Speaking of Jon Hood, rumors of him transferring are false. It might be a good idea if he thought a little more about that decision though in my opinion. Ask yourself, is he really going to see significant time next year or any year the way Cal reloads with one and dones?
[*]Daniel Orton tweeted out at 11:07: “I would like for anyone to disregard anything that you might have heard my father say he was taken the wrong way in his interview.” Now if you read Orton’s Dad’s interview with Larry Vaught, how could you take it the wrong way??
[*]Josh Selby is not going to visit UK now. He is going to Kansas. Take that to the bank.
[*]Spring football practice started today and the 3 quarterbacks were said to struggle a little bit. I am really hoping Ryan Mossokowski pushes Hartline and Newton during the Spring so he has a shot in the Fall. There is something I like about this kid. Don’t know what yet, but I will tell you when I found out.
[*]Matt Jones, the Godfather of Kentucky blogs, just sent out a tweet that said Kentucky would pursue Elisha Justice, Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball, as a walk on and possibly a 1 year scholarship. Man, I don’t even know what to think of this. Everyone really is leaving I guess.
[*]In closing, I want to apologize for the amount of posts we are putting up throughout the day. I wish it could be more, but with work, that is pretty hard to do. I guess we will just have to play catch up around 4pm everyday and hopefully make up for it deep into the night! Thanks for all of the support from the fans of Nation of Blue!!
