View From Section 137: Calm Before the Storm; Cal visits Leslie

What an unbelievable night last night! Patrick leaving. Mom says not yet. That one broke a record on Nation of Blue for most on the site at once. Good times. Today has been quiet except for Boogie hiring a guy as his agent know one has heard of. He must have a heck of a personality and a whole bunch of luck to land the best big man in the draft. I have a feeling business is about to pick up around here, and it will be fast moving so I hope everyone hangs around here and stays up to date.

[*]C.J. Leslie got a visit from Coach Cal today and the 5 star stud’s Mom said “It was a great visit,” I think Leslie is a lock to come to Kentucky. If I am wrong it won’t be the last time, but I would be shocked if CJ is not in blue for at least 1 year. Leslie plans to announce his college choice at the Jordan Brand Classic April 17th
[*]Terrence Jones says at Hoop Summit practice he’ll announce on 4/23 or 4/30. Jones would be great to have in Blue. He is so athletic and for some reason I love he is left handed. Must be the Tayshaun fan coming out in me.
[*]The Reds finally won one today. Jonny Gomes hit a walk off in the 9th to put the Reds 1 game in the win column. Bronson must have pitched well. It was a business man’s special, as no one gets to watch it who actually works for a living. I have to tell you the quote one of my friends said about the Reds this morning. “If you don’t lose the first 2, you can’t lose them all. Well, they aren’t going to lose them all!
[*]Jarrod Polson got to play in a pick up game that included some former and current Cats. All must have went well as he was asked to come back next week. I hope everything works out for Jarrod as he seems really excited to have a shot of being a Wildcat.
[*]I plan on going to Spring Football practice Saturday at 1pm. I hope to have pictures and do a write up on what I see. It is open to the public so come out and watch Joker’s Operation Win in action.
[*]I guess I am making a full day of it Saturday as I am also going to the Ohio/Kentucky All Star Game at Thomas More College. Polson is playing and I really look forward to getting a chance to talk to him about his pick up game and the next week’s continued audtion. It has to be a lot of pressure to play well and have a shot of becoming immortal in the eyes of Kentuckians.
[*]I have been wondering how everyone is feeling about the one and done situation the Cats will be facing every year and how hard it will be on Kentucky fans. Would winning a championship change the Big Blue Nation’s minds about one and dones? What about two? I know the players are living legends in the state, but they are coming to a NBA Developmental League team. They want to move on to the millions. Cal is giving that opportunity and if you didn’t know what he was going to do before he got here then you need to do your homework. The reason Cal gets the talent because he gets them ready for the NBA and pushes them out the door if they are ready. Not all of them are like Patrick Patterson and will come and stay for the love of the University. We will be getting mercenaries who are using Rupp Arena to their own advantage. You know what? That is fine with me! Only if we get #8! #9 would be nice too. If we don’t get at least one championship in the next 5 years, it could get rough for Coach Cal. For all of the Big Blue Nation’s sake, I hope he does it.
