Patterson “Half In” For A Return To UK

Over the past week there’s been a lot of talk about whether Patrick Patterson will return to UK for his Senior Season. Earlier in the week it was announced that he was entering the draft along with Wall, Cousins and Orton. Today it was reported that Patterson said he was “half in, half out” when it comes to a decision to return to UK.

It seems that Patterson was spending his day at Keeneland when he was asked about his decision to leave UK and enter the NBA draft. The USA Today Reported the following….

“I’m half in and half out right now,” Patterson said in an interview with The Associated Press Saturday while he was watching horse races at Keeneland.

Patterson called the decision on whether to leave or stay for a senior season “a tie,” adding that he hasn’t signed the paperwork to enter the NBA draft so “technically I haven’t declared.”

He said he was weighing several things, including the talent level of next season’s Kentucky team and the possibility of an NBA lockout. Coach John Calipari has encouraged him to return to Kentucky, Patterson said, although he believes he is ready to play at the next level.

When it comes to fan popularity, there’s no question Patrick Patterson is at the top of the list. I personally think he will enter the NBA draft, but I also know that Patterson is not your normal collegiate basketball player. If anyone was going to stay in school (and go for his Masters), it would be Patterson.

Do you think he will return for his senior year?
