Jarrod Polson, All State Guard from West Jessamine, has been rumored to have a great shot of obtaining a walk-on spot at the University of Kentucky. We reported last week that he got to practice at the Craft Center with present Wildcats players and alumni. I have found out this evening that his second audition for the Cats will be tomorrow at the Craft Center.
I have also found out from a very good source that he will be offered a spot with the Cats either by the weekend or the beginning of next week. Jarrod is also hearing from a couple of other schools, including SEC rival Mississippi State. Jarrod would be a great addition to the Kentucky program as he brings leadership and also great competitiveness on the floor.
This is a very exciting time for Kentucky basketball and I think it makes it even more exciting that a home state kid will get a chance to play for the Blue and White.
As you may know, I had a chance to watch Jarrod play at the Ohio/Kentucky All Star Game. He didn’t have his best outing, but it is hard to judge a guy in an All Star Game format. I was lucky enough to get an interview with Jarrod after the game. Click on the link below to hear my first interview. Jarrod does a good job of bearing with me and he was just a great kid to talk to.
