I was sleeping so soundly this morning when my phone sounded like it was getting a RSS feed of information. What could it be? Did Brandon Knight decide to jump the gun and announce he was coming to Kentucky early? No. Did they call off work today? I wish. No, it was something I never thought would happen to this regime of Kentucky basketball. A drinking problem. Rod Strickland decided to test the Lexington Metro Police and run around [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
town like he was playing late night golf. Everyone now knows what has happened and now waits to see what Cal will do with the 4 time drunk driver. You know, if I attempted the same shot in a game 3 times and couldn’t make it, I would probably try another place to shoot. Coach Strickland obviously has a hard time learning from his own mistakes. So, where does the program go from here? Does Cal send him packing? Does he ride it out and keep him on the staff? I hope not. Kentucky basketball recruits, at least I hope, are coming for Kentucky Basketball and John Calipari. I am sure Cal can find another assistant that can recruit as well as Strickland. I can understand if it was his first mistake, but 4? I guess now we know where all of the Maker’s Mark went that was in the empty bottles Cal signed at Keeneland!

[*]Jarrod Polson played pickup again today with pretty much the same guys he played with last time except for DeMarcus Cousins and DeAndre Liggins. There also wasn’t any coaches in attendance. He played well again today and further shows Polson will have a very good shot of playing in Rupp Arena again next year.
[*]Jarrod is a hot topic at the Nation of Blue because I love the thought of recruiting Kentucky talent. I watched Polson for 2 years at the KHSAA Boys State Tournament and I consider him a Sweet 16 legend. I am really glad that he was my first Nation of Blue interview and hopefully someday, when Jarrod is cutting down the nets after winning a National Championship, I can tell my son and daughter all about it.
[*]All the recruiting rumors are swirling around the Bluegrass as everyone is dying to know where everyone is going. Everyone seems to think Brandon Knight is already sleeping in his Wildcat pajamas. I think it is a given he is coming to Lexington, now my question is what other guard is going to join him? You can cross off Josh Selby as Bill Self already has a locker cleaned out for him. The top 2 recruits the Cats have of getting in my opinion is Doron Lamb. I would almost guarantee after Knight decides on Wednesday, we could see another commitment by the weekend. Going to be a busy week.
[*]The Nation of Blue is working on another giveaway as we have designed our own Nation of Blue t-shirts. There should be more information tomorrow on the Nation of Blue, UK Refuse to Lose, and UK One More Year fan pages on facebook. Make sure you follow the rules and give yourself a chance to pick up one of these very nice shirts. If you think you like them, we might think about selling them for a nominal fee to help with server fees and Fake Billy Clyde’s drinking problem.

[*]The Kentucky football team will be having closed practices for the next two weeks, and then have the spring game on April 24th. If you are going to go let us know, hunt us down at Commonwealth, because we all plan on being there in full force.
