Patrick Patterson has announced today that he will forego his senior season at Kentucky and remain in the NBA Draft.

Here are a few notes I took during the news conference:

- Patterson will remain in the NBA Draft and not return to Kentucky

– Still on track to get his degree; will obtain it in 3 years

– “I just feel that it’s time for me to move on.”

– Best memories: Coach Cal tripping over his feet in practice; says they all get a kick out of it; will always remember the great moments with his team

– No regrets with returning for junior season

– “Coach Cal said he wanted me to return…he’d love to coach me for another year.”

– Wants to be remembered as a hard worker and someone that was always there for the fans
– “I’ve been through a lot”
– “My first two years here at Kentucky were not the true Kentucky years that we’ve had in the past.”
– The West Virginia loss is still eating at Patrick
– Says he considered coming back just to try for another championship because it meant that much to him
– Should be in Lexington until May 10 or 11; after that he’ll be in California training for the Draft
– Unlike John Wall, Patrick says he can use the microwave
– He knows his mom and dad loves Lexington; knows they will miss the crazy atmosphere and the crazy fans
– “My entire family will always be true blue and bleed blue.”
