My son and I went to watch the barnstorming tour in Ashland tonight. My son had a very good time. Patrick Patterson, Ramon Harris, Perry Stevenson, and Mark Krebs were very entertaining and the crowd of course loved it. We only stayed for 1 half, because having a 4 year old makes you realize how late it gets and knowing he has to get in the bed. Also, Matt Jones was MC, so that was an even better reason to leave early.

[*]Jeff Goodman tweeted out this evening that Kentucky is one of the team’s inquiring about 6-7 Power Forward Kyle Cain of New Hampton Prep. He has recently decommitted from Rhode Island. He is said to be a late bloomer, starting out as s 2 star and currently ranked a 4 star. Cal is trying to find a forward, and the list keeps getting longer.
[*]Yesterday, there was talk of Remi Dibo being recruited by Kentucky. I heard today that was no longer the case, hearing to cross his name off the list. I think this a good thing, from what I have heard he is OVC caliber.
[*]Jody Demling just retweeted this: @ebosshoops: I’ve now had multiple people tell me Kentucky has recently inquired about Minnesota freshman Royce White. White was a 5 star recruit and in the Top 20 of the 2009 class. White left Tubby at Christmas, making him eligible after Christmas this year. Guess we will see what all this means.
[*]With all the talk of the recruiting power forwards, makes me think Terrence Jones is staying in Washington. Coincidence?
[*]There was also an interesting tweet sent out today in which Kentucky was recruiting a JUCO player. The only two I can narrow it down to is Eloy Vargas and Kiel Turpin. Eloy is visiting Arizona this weekend and Kiel will be taking an unofficial to USC.
[*]Scout.com has followed suit with Rivals and has put Kentucky as the #2 recruiting class this year behind Memphis. Wouldn’t it be something if the Cats pick up one more top recruit and Calipari screws the Tigers again?
[*]Even with the help of Coach Cal throwing out the first pitch tonight for the BatCats, it wasn’t enough as they lost 13-9. They have two more games left to try and salvage the series and get closer to making the SEC tournament. Not looking good though.
[*]Tomorrow could be a huge news day as I am sure we will find out some news about Eric Bledsoe and Daniel Orton. You also never know when Terrence Jones will flip the coin, and I am sure more power forwards well be talked about tomorrow. Keep up on Nation of Blue!!
