Washington Talking Basketball

With the Wizards getting the first pick of the NBA Draft, the Washinton media are really talking about Kentucky a lot lately. Kentucky Athletics haven’t been talked about so much in the Nation’s Capital since President Obama jinxed the Cats vs. South Carolina. Here is an excerpt from the Washington Post on the Wizards and Wall.

The Wizards: After a nightmare season in which their star player, Gilbert Arenas, was suspended for bringing guns into the team locker room, the Wizards’ luck has changed. Despite only a one-in-10 chance, the Wizards won the NBA draft lottery and will pick first in the upcoming player draft. Like lots of folks, I think the Wizards should use the top pick to grab John Wall, above, the super-talented freshman guard from the University of Kentucky. Wall reminds me of Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat or Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz. He’s a big, do-everything guard who can score, pass and defend. Wall won’t make the Wizards a winner all by himself. But he would be a good start.

You know if I had the NFL and MLB teams which Washington has, I would talk about basketball too. Wall has a very good chance to take over the town, and maybe playing quarterback for the Deadskins and shortstop for the Lastionals.
