John Calipari will take this years Kentucky Wildcats to Canada in August to play three exhibition games. Two games will be played against the Windsor Lancers (Aug. 15 and Aug. 17) and one against the Western Mustangs (Aug. 16). Tickets went on sale today and I am sure with such a limited amount, they are probably gone.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
This is the first time that Wildcats will travel out of the country since 1995 when they played 5 games in Italy. Cal’s goal is to allow his new team some bonding time and more importantly get them some invaluable experience of playing on the court with each other against outside competition. Traveling to Canada is also appealing because under NCAA guidelines, schools are allowed an extra 10 days of practice to prepare for an out of country trip.
Don’t expect these games to be a walk in the park. The Windsor Lancers we’re ranked in the top 10 throughout the year last season.
