Earlier today there was speculation that Daniel Orton had received a verbal promise from Oklahoma which prompted him to cancel his remaining predraft workouts that were scheduled. Daniel Orton has reportedly squashed that with an email to the Oklahoman:[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
“There are rumors that the Thunder have promised me something, and they haven’t,” Orton wrote in an e-mailed statement to [URL=”http://newsok.com/article/3469176″]The Oklahoman[/URL]. “I discontinued my workouts for other reasons.”
In addition to this, it is reported that the Indiana Pacers have invited Orton back to their camp for a second look. That means that Indiana may be interested in taking him at the 10 spot depending on how the first nine selections go. As it stands, we have less than 1 week to find out. The NBA draft is next Thursday at 6pm. Everyone better get out their boxing gloves because this draft is going to be a tough fight.
