Nerves were stirring at the Patterson family table during the NBA draft. “I knew the first six picks I definitely wasn’t in,” Patterson said. “When the Pistons came around, I thought now is where it starts. My name could get called.” It took eight more picks before Patterson would hear his name and be selected as the final lottery pick of the 2010 NBA draft.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Patrick is just as much into UK fans as they are into him though. “I’ll always be a member of Big Blue Nation,” Patterson said. “It will always be in my heart wherever I go. All I have to say is thank you to them, and I definitely will represent that nation with great pride.” Patrick will join former Wildcat Chuck Hayes in Houston.
The Houston Rockets can expect some additional press this season as Kentucky Wildcat websites will definitely be following Patterson next year. As suggested before, they’ll probably even see some UK fans in the crowds. Would it be cool to have a “blue out” during a Rockets home game?
