There is news circulating today across Twitter that Doron Lamb will likely be the backup point guard for Brandon Knight during this upcoming season. The headline reads just that: “Calipari says Doron Lamb likely will be the backup point guard to Brandon Knight” and that could be construed as Doron being a 6 man. I don’t think that’s the case.

Calipari says that Doron can play the 1, 2, and 3 spot. Although he will likely be the backup point guard to Brandon Knight, you can expect Lamb to play a roll similar to Bledsoe. “I may play him like we did John (Wall) and Eric (Bledsoe). The greatest thing about the dribble-drive is that the position does not matter,” Calipari said. “The four perimeter positions are all the same. It doesn’t matter if you are right, left or behind the ball. They are all the same.”
