Don Showalter, United States head coach said “Our players were well-prepared and came into the game focused. Our team is getting better with every game they play. We really have a “it’s not me, it’s we on our team“ kind of mentality.” It showed. USA pulverized the Europeans 102-66 by outscoring them 55-25 in the 1st and 3rd quarters. During the 4th quarter, team USA spent the minutes attempting mostly dunks and alley-oops and were outscored by Lithuania by 10 points.

Future Wildcats Gilchrist and Teague had low numbers in todays game. Gilchrist had 4 points in 17 minutes and Teague had 6 points in 21 minutes. During that team, the two combined for 9 turn-overs. Team USA plays next on Monday when they will face China during another preliminary round.
