Joe Crawford and Jodie Meeks – NBA Summer League

The big news yesterday out of the NBA Summer League was the lack luster performance of Daniel Orton during his pro debut which led to him being ejected after a small altercation. It wasn’t the only news however. Former Wildcats Jodie Meeks and Joe Crawford we’re also on the floor and had much better results.

Crawford was invited to play for Orlando during the summer league and Meeks is on the 76er’s roster. Although the Magic lost, Crawford had a pretty decent game and got some decent minutes. He scored 10 points during 18:38 seconds and also had a steal with only 2 turnovers.

Jodie Meeks played for 28:14 during which he scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. During this game, the spotlight was certainly on Evan Turner and Derrik Favors, the #2 and #3 draft picks in the 2010 draft. Favors, who is playing for New Jersey, scored 8 points while Turner added 12 for the 76er’s and helped get the win 84-74.

Today’s action will see Orton and Crawford at 1pm when Orlando face the Jazz. Meeks and the 76er’s are not in action today.
