Scout.com released the revised 2011 Basketball Recruit Rankings, unveiling a new No. 1.
So far Kentucky has secured three verbal recruits for 2011, all three remain in the Top 10 and as last reported, Kentucky still owns the commitment of the No. 1 Player in the country.

As many expected, there is a difference. The previous rankings had Michael Gilchrist, the 6-6, 190lb Small Forward, at the top of the class. He’s still top 10, but no longer at the top spot.
Recent Kentucky commit Anthony Davis has secured No. 1 while Gilchrist moved to No. 5 and the Indianapolis point Guard, Marquis Teague, came in at No. 6.
Davis moving to the top spot was no surprise. There’s been recent speculation that he might move to the No. 1 overall spot since his emergence in early Summer.
A young man, who just a year ago was playing Guard at 6-3 and was on nobody’s recruiting radar, grew 6 inches and developed an ability to play inside or out. Playing with the mentality of a Guard or posting someone up on the block, he’s at home in both spots, making him an ultimate offensive threat.
The ranking is almost guaranteed to give the Cats and Coach Calipari the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for the third year in a row. The dream of the Big Blue Nation, every 2010-11 Player to return for the 11-12 season and add the big three. The reality is, it isn’t going to happen.
The great news is, if Kanter, Knight and Jones do leave early for the Association, Teague, Davis and Gilchrist will fill the roles vacated quite nicely…
