New Year’s Eve Kentucky vs. Louisville

Every New Year’s Eve is filled with parties, family and fun. Not many New Year’s Eve’s are filled with two parties but 2010 will be an exception. How does a Kentucky vs. Louisville rivalry game at 12:00pm followed by a ball dropping and kissing your significant other at 12:00am sound this year? Exactly what I was thinking, it sounds AWESOME! The only thing that would make it even sweeter is if it was being played in Lexington. This year, the Cardinals will have home court advantage in their new arena.

The game will certainly be full of emotions and excitement for the players, just as last year was. Last year the game was kicked off with bodies on the floor scruffling for loose balls, technical fouls and of course the Wildcats pulling out the win 71-62. It’s going to be interesting to see what this year will bring. It could be Ricky P’s last chance for 15 seconds of fame in 2010!

My prediction however is that it will be 40 minutes of shame for Pitino and his Cardinals. The Wildcats will bring too much talent into the “Bucket” and will walk away with the win. The big men, Kanter (he’ll be eligible, right?) and Jones will dominate the paint in the first half and Lamb and Miller will be freed up during the second half to shoot the long ball. Pitino and the Cardinals will adjust, but they won’t be able to control the inside and the line.

My prediction: 82-68.

It’s going to be a wild and carzy New Year’s Eve. Everyone be safe, have designated driver’s and cheer GO BIG BLUE all day and night!
