HighSchoolHoop: Certainly you’re thrilled to be back in school hitting the books, but recap your summer for me. Were you pleased with your overall performance?
DaJuan Coleman: Yeah, I’d say so. It was really competitive, but I felt like I put in work pretty good. I just wanted to dominate the floor and run the floor. I wanted to improve my post game and I feel like I did all that.

HSH: And you capped it off with adidas Nations?
DC: Yeah that was fun. A lot of competition and just playing against different styles was helpful. I even went against a 7-5 guy. That was crazy!

HSH: Wow, 7-5?
DC: Yep, every bit of it too.

HSH: So did he give you the business or what?
DC: (Laughs) Oh no no… I gave it to him!

HSH: What did you average this summer?
DC: I averaged 25 points and just under 20 rebounds.

HSH: We’d heard about the rebounding. How do you grab so many?
DC: It’s a timing thing and a mindset with me. I really believe that I can grab every rebound and I try to go get them all. That’s worked for me.

HSH: It definitely has. So just to rehash, no top five?
DC: No, that report wasn’t true.

HSH: OK, well run me down your list.
DC: Syracuse, North Carolina, Kentucky, Connecticut, Louisville, Ohio State… Those are the schools that I’m concentrating the most on right now.

HSH: Have you taken visits to these schools?
DC: No, I’m really only familiar with Syracuse because that’s my hometown.

HSH: You and Rakeem Christmas (Bryn Athyn, Pa., 2011) are cool, right?
DC: Yeah.

HSH: So does him committing there and it being your hometown give the Orangemen any type of edge?
DC: A little bit, but I still would say that I’m wide open.

HSH: Are you planning on setting up visits any time soon?
DC: I don’t think so. I’m just gonna take my time with it.
