Really? Seriously? The two most over used words in recent time are the only words I can come up with in response to a UofL fan telling Kentucky fans we’re missing the point. Apparently, Kentucky fans are so star struck by our head coach that we’re purposely over looking questionable recruiting behavior. Oh, and that Coach Cal is the most hated man in college hoops. Seriously? Really?[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
In an article published on BR, Abe OBryan, a proud fan of the Louisville Cardinals, takes the opportunity to publish yet more smut about Calipari. It seems that Abe thinks Calipari may have had something to do with the alleged Bledsoe grade concern. It also seems that he suggests Cal knows something about unfortunate release of the Anthony Davis requesting money rumor and Enes Kanter being paid while in Turkey.
Fact is, you can’t go around stepping on toes all day long and at the same time, not expect to get a fat lip eventually. This whole thing started because some “anonymous sources” from other universities, who were probably coaches, started chirpping to any reporter who’d listen. I can hear them now, telling that reporter from New York how Bledsoe’s high school coach was a bad guy who wanted money from coaches just to talk to his kid. It’s the same story in the Anthony Davis situation.
In the Davis case, once again, three separate “university officials” claimed that the Davis family wanted cash for a commitment. In the case of Enes Kanter, “anonymous sources” are, as we speak, coming out of the wood work. Most to claim they all knew he was a pro years ago, that’s why they didn’t go after him. Are we seeing the pattern here?
The only pattern I see here is one of the people that make Calipari the most hated man in college hoops jumping on the bandwagon. First of all, I have never seen the poll that proves or even suggests that Cal is the most hated man in college sports. Secondly, your momma should have told you to never throw stones in a glass house.
The College Basketball world hates you because of who leads you, the NCAA hates you because of who leads you, and other coaches hate you because of who leads you.
A particular UofL fan seems to hate Coach Cal deeply. Don’t equate that to the college basketball world. Here is what would make a great poll question.
If you were a parent sending your kid off to school to play college basketball, who would you trust most to take care of them:
1. A coach who has proven time again that he knows how to prepare young men for adulthood though hard work and discipline, all the while putting them in a great position to make millions of dollars.
OR
2. A coach who has at times had shining moments and has had some success preparing kids, but has no morals what so ever relating to his personal life and cannot control his testosterone when a roach wearing a skirt approaches him.
After reading this article I am left to believe that friends of a certain UofL fan most likely carry a can of RAID when they hang out. It’s crystal clear to me who is MISSING the POINT.
