We’re still in a holding pattern regarding Enes Kanter’s eligibility. There was a lot of news this past week regarding the talented recruit for Kentucky, specifically that the NCAA has said that Kanter now has to stop practicing with the Wildcats until a ruling is provided. Enes did practice on Thursday and it is now believed that Kentucky will ask the NCAA for an extension to allow Enes to get back on the court and practice.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Enes says that he knew he wanted to play at Kentucky and for Calipari after watching 5 minutes of a game last year. And if he get’s to play, it will be a great thing for UK basketball this season. His coaches and his teammates says that he is strong, knows how to rebound and plays great facing the basket.
The question still remains, will he get to play? Mitch Barnhart is expected to talk to the NCAA on Monday about the UK freshman. Although it is expected the discussion will be about the practice extension, it is unknown whether or not discussions will occur regarding his actual eligibility.
After weeks and weeks of opinions, it seems as if UK fans have another weeks worth in front of them. Some of the basketball analysis are suggesting a ruling will be made this week, others take the safe route that the NCAA clearinghouse will rule when they rule. For me, I just hope we get to see Enes in a UK uniform before we see him in tights and boots being announced as the UnderKanter.
