Enes Kanter Eligibility Update – IV

Happy Halloween Kentucky fans and to our favorite UK wrestling character The Underkanter. In less than 24 hours, the Kentucky Wildcats will take the floor for their first regular season exhibition game against Pikeville. At this hour, it appears that Wildcats will enter the game with a 10 man roster. That means, no Enes Kanter. Frustrating, I know.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

The frustration level will grow for fans, the coaching staff, the team and Enes with each passing day as the young man misses on more valuable play time. Valuable to the Kentucky Wildcats, valuable to his development and to his stock as he will seemingly be a draft entrant after this season. The question at this point is, will he ever play at Kentucky?

Coach Cal continues to believe so. “Enes has the body and potential to be special. He will provide a valuable low-post presence on both the offensive and defensive ends for our team. He also has the versatility to play away from the basket with his shooting ability and face-up game.”

Although no one really knows when a ruling will come down from the NCAA, I think a lot of fans were silently hoping the ruling would come this past week. Last year, on October 30, the NCAA finally handed out the ruling for then freshman John Wall. Although the situations being investigated are different and have much different levels of complexity, it would have been nice to have a ruling from the clearinghouse on Kanter prior to the season really beginning. Just like we had last year with Wall.

That’s not the case however and now the Wildcats will start tomorrow night not having any idea on what to expect on Enes Kanter and when to expect it. Likewise, fans will too have to sit as patiently as possible and wait the ruling.

Until then, leave a comment below and let us know what you think will be the ruling on Enes Kanter.
