Dear Enes Kanter,

It never seems to amaze me how the charm of a young man can stir up so much love and support in Big Blue Nation. You have certainly done just that, earned the support of hundreds of thousands of fans without playing a single game…yet. Enes Kanter is already a legend in his own right as a Kentucky Wildcat.

Let me introduce myself to get started. My name is Scott and I am one of six writer’s for Nation of Blue. As a part of my writing for the site, I also take time out to write letters to the athletes and coaches that make up Big Blue Nation in part to share my thoughts on particular subjects and in part to let members of the Big Blue Nation add their signatures to show their support.

As I sat around this weekend I found myself reflecting on the recruiting season for the basketball program and the weeks that have led us to this point in time. Two exhibition games have passed and you still wait patiently for a ruling from the NCAA to say when you’ll be able to take the court as a Kentucky Wildcat. Your ability to remain positive and patient throughout this process is a testament to your maturity level at your young age.

I guess the support helps get you through this anxious time though. The FREE ENES! movement that has swept the nation, fans support during your introduction at Big Blue Madness and fans asking for your pictures when you’re spotted around campus. We haven’t even seen you play as a Wildcat and the BBN adores you.

At this point no one really knows what is going to happen. We all wait just as you to hear the outcome of this investigation. We all trust in Coach Cal and believe in what he believes in, that you’ll get your chance to play as a Wildcat. You think you’ve seen the support up to this point, just wait until you take the floor for your first game. It’s going to be a chilling moment.

Until that time comes, know that the Big Blue Nation is behind you, supports you and looks forward to seeing you in the near future. We’re looking forward to the 2010-2011 season, to Enes dominating the paint and far beyond when you officially become “The Underkanter”.

A supporting fan,
Scott Z. and…
