Ranking The SEC: 2011 Recruiting By Team And Prospect

Evan Daniels of Scout.com takes a look at the SEC and how the recruiting class of 2011 ranks, both by team and by prospect.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Here are the rankings by team:

Kentucky – Nation of Blue Insight: With four of the nations top recruits, John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats once again take the No 1 position, both in the SEC and the Nation. With three players ranked No 1 in their position, Wiltjer, Gilchrist, Teague and Davis will be a dominating force when they take the floor in Lexington.

Arkansas – Nation of Blue Insight: With a top 5 class nationally, Kentucky’s own John Pelphrey, lands his best recruiting class yet and the number 2 class in the SEC. Ky Madden and B. J. Young head up an extremely talented class and should help propel Arkansas towards the top of the SEC West.

Alabama

Vanderbilt

Mississippi State

Georgia

LSU

Florida

Tennessee

Auburn

South Carolina

Mississippi
Overall, the SEC has commitments from 9 of the top 25 prospects in the country, ranking the SEC as the No 1 recruiting conference in the nation.

Once again, Calipari’s class dominates the Top Prospects category. The one surprise was that Michael Gilchrist wasn’t listed in one category. Gilchrist is the No 3 overall player of the class and was at No 1 for the majority of the year.

Kyle Wiltjer is listed as the Best Post Player but his overall skill, inside and out, will help Kyle stand out from just a low post player. His shooting ability may be the best of the four in the Class of 2011.

Go Cats!!!
